Simple Uk site for trial

I'm coming here from plex, where the EPG has recently failed (due I believe to changes in the EPG format they've used)

I'd like to try before I "donate". there are various restrictions in place

so far I've tried:
- Freesat.co.uk - no shows in index page - this is an old ini and I suspect has the same problem as plex has
- radiotimes.co.uk - encrypted with v3
- m.tvguide.co.uk - no shows in index page

I've found I have to be registered to get anything, in practice. and that I can't flag more than 30 channels

i'm tuning in with a effectively a freeview tuner HDHomerun quatro - so a subset of Freesat should align with the channels I can get

Please could someone point me towards the UK EPG service I could expect to "just work" if I cut the channels down to less than 30 - I am not asking for the best - but the simplest...

Once I've proved it works, I'll pay my "donation" and do something more sophisticated

thanks

well imho opinion if u cannot decide ths with the 30 channel limit then what more would u like.
u can always test 30 channels of whatever u want then change it to 30 others, there is no limit on this.
you can change ur channel linup as many time as u wish.
for a 5 euro donation u get 250 and its good for 1 year so i dont see what u have to loose?

my question is not about the number - I am hoping someone familiar with UK XMLTV and webgrab+ can suggest an unencrypted service, that can be configured at the registered user level - so that I can satisfy myself it would import into Plex ok.

"Please could someone point me towards the UK EPG service I could expect to "just work" if I cut the channels down to less than 30" <- I'm happy to cut the channels down & make the necessary config changes. Indeed I've done so 3 times already without success...

It takes a couple of iterations (at least - sometimes more if you don't follow instructions correctly) to try each one out.

I understand it's open source and donations are only a minor compensation for the time the devs have contributed - so I don't expect them to fix feeds for one bloke in the UK...
However I've already paid / donated to 2 other services for epg this year - just seems sensible to test properly before paying, and if this isn't going to work I'll try a different approach

I succeeded earlier today bypassing webgrab+ and going direct to XMLTV.co.uk/feeds - the feed loaded succesfully into Plex.

The only glitch were the channel icons were not picked up. The site says it refreshes every 24 hours so a simple Cron or batch job would address that. However without a merge function this would potentially need to download a large file repeatedly.

Tried WG+ for #4th time. This time with the (non-mobile) tvguide - this worked. (for the benefit of anyone in the UK trying similarly)
Certainly I am happy to use tvguide as I already pay them for access on my phone

TVGuide.co.uk_info.txt explains getting a cookie, with the proposed extension. In Chrome it worked simply.
Note there isn't a "full" tvguide ini included in the default site.ini collection and this is a wrong turning

In Plex as an alternative to using (trying to use) the inbuilt guide. there is an option to use an XML file.
If using a Docker based implementation, need to reference via the docker pathname for the file.

so just waiting for my donation to register and will hopefully be able to save TV pr aogrammes again shortly.
