How to remove unnecessary code?

In some instances this code is next to the starting time:

<img class="\"grd-new\"" src="http://www.webgrabplus.com/%5C"//webgrabplus.com/www.webgrabplus.com/EPG/grid/images/gnew.png\"" alt="\"\"">

I tried to remove it like this:

index_start.modify {remove(notnull type=string)|'<img class="\"grd-new\"" src="http://www.webgrabplus.com/%5C"//webgrabplus.com/www.webgrabplus.com/EPG/grid/images/gnew.png\"" alt="\"\"">'}

and this:

index_start.modify {remove(notnull type=regex)|'<img class=' "(.*)$"}

It doesn't work.

How can I remove that complete piece of code?

Due to this code some starting times are not recognized.

Thanks!

While you answered, I somehow managed to get rid of it by this:

index_start.modify {remove(type=regex)|(<.*)}

But I will use your method, because I trust that rather, than mine.

btw: it should be added to the dstv com ini for South Africa, because due to this complete channels are not grabbed.
