Mat and Russia

FROM MAT

"" It's 26 Feb 2022 and we all know what it is going on between Russia and Ukraine.
This means nothing compared to what a "WAR" is, but we can't just close our eyes.
We do not want to start politic's discussions, but as a very small community we decided to suspend the support to Russian siteini, epg and whatever, until all this will stop, hopefully with a peacefull situation.
Therefore:
1. Siteini from Russia folder have been removed, (whatever is in your siteini.pack will still work).
2. We suggest to move Russia folder to siteini.user to avoid that siteini.pack updates will delete everything.
3. Siteini with extension .ru will not be supported for now. Do not even ask for creation, modification or changes.

We hope that you all will understand this small protest, even the friendly russian users we have.
We need peace and no war !! ""

""
I am anti war and anti violence anywhere in the world, from anyone to anyone.
But introducing politics into a cosmopolitan band with a common EPG but with different sensitivities and different orientations is a mistake and it's spam.
Punishing our Russian friends in our group is a mistake because they are certainly not for the war because I do not know a people who are for it.
The most intelligent and responsible message is to forbid any discussion or allusion to this war. ""

I'm with you here. This war is unjust and brings cruelty onto completely undeserved civilian people. Though drastic measures taken here are promiscuous to everyone.
First of all not all the russian channels are propagandistic, but now I cannot use the software even for such channels. Also, you are punishing everyone: those who are just learning russian language, those who have russian husbands/wives, those who have nothing to do with the war and even try their best to help alleviate its consequences. It's like punishing someone for just speaking a language, not for being guilty of something.

Anyways, Mat, I understand your position, it's your service/software/website and you're in right to take any measures you feel just, but keep in mind that even such small actions like you just did are part of big bullying that is happening all around the world against russian-speaking people who are not responsible for the atrocities that Russia is doing right now. Russian-speaking kids are bullied at european schools even though those kids and even their parents are not guilty for what is happening. They are guilty only of that they were born in Russia and/or speak russian language. We should hate/punish/go against those who are responsible, not against those who speak certain language, were born at certain country, have certain nationality or citizenship.

Still thank you and respect for your position on this anyways.

Just to clarify, it was not "my post" but a position of the owners, to which i agreed. Who had a siteini.pack the russian siteini can still use them. On the other side if we keep looking at all that is happening, like "deers in the the headlight" nothing it's going to change. We believe that blocking such things (epg is nothing compared to blocking $$ in bank's account) may contribute very little to this cause, but we do our part. Just yesterday "Anonymus" hacked some tv channels, to show what is happening, with the intent of having also the russian people say "STOP" to this war. A way to wake up minds and be more on "what the hell is going there ?"
This is the intent of our little action. Of course it will restart as soon as peace come back, hopefully soon.

I'm not looking to get involved in any topic about the war as its not the place here to do politics.

However I do have 1 issue with the blocking of the Russian ini's and that is many do contain Ukranian listings and listings for other regions in the area which are important to allow people in these regions access to EPG. If the site owner wishes to block Russian EPG thats fine, we all make our stand in what way we can but can the EPG for the Ukrainian channels be sorted, they are over 5 years old.

Unfortunately that's it. Wish could help, but we also noticed several sites have problems related to connection.
Of course with a war going on we can't pretend more. One of the site affected is attached, but a lot of more sites are having issues.
Right now Russia is cutting connections to sites outside Russia(including facebook, instagram, etc etc), the same is appening vicersa, Europe and the rest of the world are shutting down connections to Russia. Ukrainian connections also down.
Hope all this will be solved soon.
